Although not the oldest neighborhood in Bloomington, the Bryan Park area does contain several historic homes. One notable example is the c.1930 Arts and Crafts/English Cottage Revival style home on South Washington Street.
The neighborhood also contains the home used by the family of the main character in the movie Breaking Away - the classic tale of Indiana University's Little 500 bicycle race.

Washington Street between 1st Street and Allen Street still has its original brick sidewalks laid in chevron pattern. The Bryan Park Neighborhood Association, with grant money provided by the City of Bloomington's Dept. of Housing and Neighborhood Development, is engaged in a long-term project of rebuilding these historic sidewalks.
